April 30, 2024 - Reading Offline #1 - Alino's Thames Lido Dinner - Mixed Whites and Reds (The Thames Lido, Reading): Some redcurrant jelly and hints of raspberry ripple ice creaminess. Some roasting sweet chestnuts too. Palate sweet smoky and spicy. Some overripe plums and after some time hints of strawberry coulis. If this trio had been served blind I don't think it would have been called out as a 2003.
April 27, 2024 - Enjoyable, a bit more chewy fruit than I expected for a 20yr CDP. Was hoping for something a bit more refined at this point in its life.
April 13, 2024 - This has been a very problematic producer for this vintage. Decanted for c 1.5 hours. Again some rather unpleasant medicinal fumes taste. But got better as evening proceeded. Drunk alongside 2003 Clos des papes and 1999 Pegau Feter c 4 hours this wine became drinkable. In summary all 6 bottles have ranged from being undrinkable to very hard work.
March 23, 2024 - Beautiful aged grenache- No heat from alcohol nor candied concentration - Eaten with grilled Wagyu NY and a burger for the boss- beautiful pairing with the wine with very little time to air it out.
February 2, 2024 - At a tasting of 8 CDP's, this showed some oxidization but was concentrated and unctuous on the palate and almost liqueur in its density and richness.
June 29, 2023 - it's good to touch the green, green grass of home. Rich, deep, sweet, local, Grenache singing loudly. The warm vintage is handled very well here, no signs of fatigue, this is drinking a point; if you have it, pop it, it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive.

February 6, 2023 - Brown orange color. Awful nose. Flawed.
January 6, 2023 - big, rich, long finish and ready
December 12, 2022 - Dark purple with black core; notes of smoke and tar with plum and macerated cherry, a little sweet on the palate, rich and creamy but with a burned roasted note and a cherry/plum compote note making it perfect with Korean BBQ and spicy kimchi on the side. W S&L
October 16, 2022 - This is the second bottle I consumed (the first back 0n 3/14/21) and it continues to drink very well. Dark opulent fruit with hints of game and damp earth, well integrated tannins and satisfying mouthfeel and finish. The reviews are all over the place with this wine: I've stored this wine under perfect conditions but I also may just be lucky. Sounds like some may be corked/stored improperly?? Strange.
