May 16, 2023 - Tasting of 6 Gevrey Chambertin grand cru vineyards, brought by SH, beautiful nose of strawberries, with time bit of game but not precise nor sharp, good rather than great

November 16, 2022 - No formal note. Attractive, complete nose, florals but also some savoury meatiness, soil, soft tannins, fersh acids, good if not exceptional length.

November 16, 2022 - Nine red 2006 Burgs (Noize): Peppery, earthy and mentholated, with good definition and lift. So sleek and elegant it seemed a bit understated, but nevertheless an attractive sense of completeness. On the night this was my preferred red, but with hindsight it seems slightly anonymous, as though the (flawed) personality of the Maume overshadowed it - but that shouldn't happen to a great wine, should it...

November 16, 2022 - 2006 Burgundy with a few additions (Noizé, London): A complete contrast to the Maume. This suggests feathered game on the nose with bright acidity. Palate starts tightly coiled but gives in time. There is a touch of grated milk chocolate and later some Branston pickle savoury / sweetness. Joint red of the night.

November 19, 2021 - ESBK wine swap. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of licorice, oak veneer, ripe red cherries, dark iron earth backdrop. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, fine medium+ tannins, medium+ going on full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of iron earth, ripe red cherries, licorice, vital sap, some spices. Deep long finish.
Excellent quality Chambertin. Properly masculine. Muscle power with iron. Still young now, will go on a long time more.
