    January 1, 2022 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -mild bricking
-lovely sous bois gentle warm earth
-med+ acidity, med/med- weight faint remnants of tart cherry iron earth, med+ tannins are somewhat drying
-this has a lot of structure left, perhaps too much as it overwhelms the pleasantly mature fruit

October 13, 2021 - Casual dinner at Testacio: 95/99/10 flight. Attractive nose of spice and earthen black fruit with Vosne spice and personality. Earth fruit with good concentration but the structure is pretty firm leading to a slightly short finish. Probably as good as its going to get.

October 13, 2021 - Dinner at Testaccio (Chicago, IL): Of the three MG Chaignots (1999 and 2010), this was obviously the must rustic and true to NSG form. Incredibly backwards and structural at first, lacking fruit and showing mostly acid, this wasn't too interesting to drink. It was only with lots of air where some of the fruit started to emerge, and the wine became more balanced on the palate. The rough and tumble character of this wine speaks pretty true to both the vintage and the appellation.
