November 1, 2013 - This wine is still showing its youthful size and tannin. Decanting smoothed it out a bit but it's still not in the drinking window for me. Maybe it never will be….

April 18, 2012 - Hmm, I can't tell if this is just a bit past its prime, or if it never really had it goin' on in the first place. Medium crimson w bricking. Nose is not very pleasant, a mixture of Brett/barnyard and sour cherries with a yeasty top note - palate has dry red fruit - rhubarb, chokecherries, red currants - very drying tannins - we'll see what tomorrow brings, but right now, this is a bit of a tough slog.

March 3, 2008 - More of everything than the 2004 drunk about a month ago. Darker, more tannic, more body. Not necessarily a good thing. Even with decanting this never really smoothed out over a couple of hours.
