January 22, 2023 - The best (and last, sadly) bottle of this wine. Opened a few hours early but not decanted. Elegant on the nose, especially next to the more coarse 02 Oregon Pinot that was served alongside. Lovely dark berry fruits, a stony mineral sense, pine needles. Well integrated and harmonious, balanced, layered. This is a high-class nose, with good detail and complexity. Follow through on the palate, which has real impact and depth without any excess weight. Impressive, and reminds me of why I became interested in L'Arlot in the first place.

March 21, 2022 - Quite tight, not very giving, mire structure than fruit at moment. B for now

January 16, 2021 - PNP Excellent wine, wonderful aroma on the nose, forest floor, baking spices. Typical NSG, also great reflection of the producers style. Last bottle, wish I had more drinking well.

August 24, 2020 - Ending August by the Sea; 8/22/2020-8/26/2020 (Alicante - España): Still in the plain of its prime but it is not displaying that aristocratic character of yesteryear. Ripe black cherries, red berries and rose petals on the nose presented without much complexity, even waiting for the bottle to warm up a bit. Better on the palate with a silky texture, sufficient length, fine acidity and a delicious aftertaste. Good level but honestly I expected a lot more.

October 16, 2019 - Elegant mature Burgundy. Still some tannins lurking in the background, otherwise this is totally ready to drink. Fine fresh nose with a bit of complexity, medium body, good sturdy finish. A food wine rather than a wine to drink on its own.

September 22, 2018 - Earthy aromas with wet leaves and some strawberry. Soft, chewy and mature on the palate. Quite elegant for a Nuits St. Georges. Some rustique 2006 tannins lurking in the background, just enough to straighten up the wine. A nice surprise.

September 6, 2018 - Needed an hour to fully open up aromatically. Then there are somewhat rustic but still lovely and interesting soil driven earthy tones that are entwined with the red fruits on the nose. Balanced, pure, and delicious on the palate. Not the broadest and most complex wine, not the deepest in flavor, nothing superlative here. Just a good working NSG with some detail, and very tasty.

    April 4, 2018 - {Bought from friend with great cellar, 9th of 12 bottles in last 2 months}.
Delicious, mature but not over the hill. Bricked, good but not great nose, delicious mature NSG palate, consistent finish and palate presence. I really like this wine and it's really drinking well now. Nothing is outstanding and nothing is really lacking, it's a well balanced wine ready to drink. Another example of 2006 being pretty good for the village of NSG.
