March 28, 2021 - Wow! Största överraskningen på länge. Kryddig och sötfruktig med härliga mognadstoner och komplexitet. Utmärkt.

March 28, 2020 - From 75cl, perfect cork, opened 30 minutes, didn’t change over subsequent hour. Solid GC villages with darkish fruit, not too ripe, not too skinny, fine middle-class effort, punching perhaps slightly lower than Bachelet, but very well made. Profoundly unexiting nonetheless in its sober linearity, from almost imperceptible perfume (even in Zalto Burgundy glasses) through to the finish, which has the silken sheen but rough epidermis of poly/cotton tracksuit fabric. 87-88P, but in a good, authentic, non-concocted way. Drink now to 2024.

October 23, 2019 - A decent showing with good ripeness and dissolved tannins but got obliterated by the other wines that evening. The person who brought this to this Grand and 1er Cru dinner should have been less stingy.

April 2, 2018 - Good Pinot scents. Maturing flavour but still a way to go. Quite big, touch of liquorice. Nice wine.

March 7, 2018 - Was flat and fruitless upon opening but after 2-3 hours, the acidity and sweet cherries becomes evident. Therefore this one needs decanting 2-4hrs before enjoyment

    Mortet leverer varene.

December 27, 2014 - Bramble fruit, a little closed but very nice. Needs time but everything is integrating well

October 19, 2014 - Popped & poured, 16C. This is is quite weighty and rich, some lovely oak. Nice cherry sweetness yet a little bit of earthiness. Reminds me a little of some ripe kiwi Pinots but this does have a nice acidity and bite that gives it away as Burgundy. Very deep and long finish. I can see why Mortet is so popular. I do wonder it is a bit made-up though?
Even better with roast poussin - the oak added a gentle richness to the wine. Wasn't a good match with Gruyere and Manchego cheese though.

June 10, 2014 - Bit closed. goes through phases. At one stage a bit bitter, then after a couple of hours it opens up. Nose not great. but colour and taste OK

January 18, 2014 - Dark and concentrated red colour, almost opaque in the middle of the glass. Nose is open with medium intensity, initially showing some floral and sweet berry fruits, with a more medicinal tone after an hour or so in the glass. Medium bodied. The palate has an approachable and luscious fruity flavour. Mouth-watering, it entices me to sip more. Tannins seem to have softened and are fully integrated leaving a well rounded wine. The finish is fairly short. This is very enjoyable and drinking well now.
