June 4, 2018 - Decanted. Spice but not fruit. Color still good. Cork dried.

August 17, 2010 - So glad we drank this '01 now - intense nearly black indigo, tannins still strong but well-mellowed, lovely tobacco, leather, and earth with a bit of spice. Very very nice, but wouldn't last a lot longer before it started to lose steam.

May 15, 2010 - Past it's prime. Tannins nicely soft. Fruit is faded. Not bad nice ruby color fading to orangish on the edge.

September 30, 2007 - Deep color and nice nose. With a bit of bite on the nostril. Hits the tongue with typical zin zest but the tannins - even at this late date - the tannins are quite drying. Leaving a so so finish and me? I am thirsty, but for water, not more of this wine. A simple and only good effort. Nothing special.

February 19, 2005 - Tasted February 19, 2005 at Farpointe Wine Cellars in Shott Zweisel red wine glasses. Dark Ruby colored in the glass. Odd nose of leather and asphalt. Flavors of cherry and pepper. Acidity is light and alcohol a little hot. Pass.
