  November 28, 2023 - Precision wines have almost a cult-like following for what their fans perceive to be excellent QPR. For the most part, however, I've found their Bordeaux-varietal bottlings to be a bit too extracted for my palate. So I was very pleasantly surprised with their "Embroidery" Pinot Noir, which *does* provide excellent QPR at only $11/btl from Costco. The initial bouquet has beguiling varietal fruit, tempered with slightly smokey wood incense, pleasant loamy earth, and a funky hint of truffle and Gruyere cheese. Although the body is a bit thin on the palate, it still evinces nice varietal fruit flavors of pomegranate, date, and Morello cherries with some surprising complexity simmering just below the surface. Finishing somewhat on the angular side, it is a tad sharp right at the end. However, that same finish can be a great complement to the right foods—duck confit anyone? Overall, a nice food wine to enliven an otherwise pedestrian Tuesday night dinner. (Rating is reflective of QPR value.)

  November 6, 2023 - Shy fruit with cinnamon and cola, ruby color but not dark, somewhat simple. Good Pinots are hard to find under $10. This one is $7 but fairly average in quality.

  September 10, 2023 - Many of the people at dinner remarked on its bright fruit and delightful tannins Dry, but not too dry.
