Community Tasting Notes 7

July 5, 2021 - Decanted with hardly any sediment, and drunk over the course of 3-4 hours.
Watery rim with only a hint of brown (very little) and a translucent red.
Started off in the direction of red cherries, wild strawberries, as well as some earthy tones, menthol and herbal (sage?). Something salinity in the taste profile as well. The mouthfeel was quite silky as well as a bit sharper bite to it somehow. Very long lingering salivating finish.

After 3-3,5 hours of decanting the wine gained in weight and more a more darker fruit profile came through. What appeared as a bit share had mellowed away, otherwise no other changes to the texture and finish.

It was drinking beautifully. While I am not sure it would gain anything from further aging I am quite sure it could keep going for another decade.

May 9, 2011 - At its peak and about to go downhill. Very mature with forest floor, roses and worn leather couch. Tannins have dissipated almost completely.

October 21, 2010 - Mature brick red, yellow rim, 4. Complex nose, forest floor, mushroom, roses. The taste is having the fine balance of mature nebbiolo combined with some sweetness taking the top edge of the tannins. Drink now (- 2015)
