April 23, 2011 - Nice solid pinot, with cherry and cedar notes. Lots of sediment, so be careful at the end of the bottle.

December 22, 2010 - Pop/pour - initially 90 pts. Medium bodied pinot with a yin/yang between tart and fruit. For me, this drinks more like an Oregon pinot than it does one from California, perhaps because of the relatively northern location of the vineyard. Air treats this wine well, bringing out a bit more resin and fruit depth while at the same time taming the tartness. After 30 minutes, it starts to shine.....tempered resiny sweetness, a hint of stems, and acidity in balance. Great on its own, this has such elegance that it should really be married with the right food. "Savage" it is not! This was a one-off purchase for me...I wish I had more.

August 6, 2010 - Very good. Significantly integrated and improved from a bottle two years ago. Brooding nose of blackberry and blueberry, with notes of wet earth and limestone. Palate unfolds with sweet black cherry and blueberry, with notes of Anderson Valley minerals and forest floor. A delight.

April 20, 2010 - 14.1% alcohol. Red cherry color. Beautiful nose of red and black cherry, with slight spice and rich earthy notes. In the mouth, pure and laser-like, with focused fruit, a bright mineral note, spice, and deep earth. The acidity is strong but refined and doesn't stick out. Long finish that still shows some youth. August 30, 2009 - Complex wine with dark cherry, smoke, forest floor and dark minerality. This drank very young and I think will evolve and soften in the next few years.
