March 9, 2023 - In a great drinking window. I really like this style. Yes a little rustic, but like a fine, old hunting lodge in the country. An earthy nose with assertive tannins, crisp acidity, red fruit and some nutmeg and licorice.

January 17, 2023 - Some conflicting notes below here noting a rather rustic and structured wine, but some drying out of fruit. It has plenty of acidity but I’m not particularly long on the trajectory here. Put me in the drink now camp.

October 1, 2021 - White focused lunch at Maison Dakota. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of tertiary earth, fragrant sous bois, aged leather, dried flowers, pungent sweet herbs. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of minty menthol, tertiary earth, sweet herbs, dusty stony minerality, dark red cherries, dried sour red cherries, dried red plums. Long finish.
Very good quality. Though in a tertiary phase already and fruit on a decline. Time to drink up already. Quite gentle for a Beze.

November 29, 2020 - Good depth, highly tannic. More expressive in day 2. Exactly what I expect from pre-2007 Faiveley.

TN: some secondary flavors developing. Still bright red fruit; mainly currant. Green. Highly tannic on the palate and a long finish.

I will drink my last one in 2025 or later

August 13, 2020 - Sweet fruits, elegant, savouriness, sweet spices and floral, I really think this is a Chambolle. Good acidity on the entry and loaded with sweet, generous fruits and some spiciness aftertaste. Cloves, mint and dark chocolate. This is showing good mienrality and fine grained tannin though not the depth of the Beze. Good finish and lingering with savouriness.

June 7, 2020 - Decanted for about an hour. This wine is just extremely tight right now and really hard to assess. The nose is quite nice with flavors of cherries, cedar, a hint of red berries, and violets. On the palate it’s quite shut down and highly tannic and structured with little fruit coming through at the moment. The quality is there and while certainly good, this wine is not pleasurable to drink right now. I don’t know if 10 years will be enough or it needs another 20... 90-94

February 24, 2018 - Certainly a great surprise here. A super refined and yet focused beauty showing suave texture, beautiful floral nose and just right amount of spice but all in the most inviting and silky texture. The fruits are all here still and yet the gripping tanning keep the back end very tight and energetic. I am certainly very pleased to see this kind of poise in the Faiveley's making. Cheers,

February 20, 2018 - I think this is going nowhere for a decade... tight, stalky, tense, lean, red fruits - uptight even the next day, nothing much to enjoy

April 29, 2017 - Tasty but needs air. Fruit might be a little bit toasted. Perhaps reflecting the vintage a bit?

September 23, 2014 - Started tight and thin and stalky with really strong menthol and eucalyptus.
After an hour found its stride, fattened up a bit, still menthol and eucalyptus but rich red fruit, stalk, fresh acids and great length. Very territorial. Quite exciting.
