December 31, 2023 - Has held up well and is drinking nicely with honeyed fruit, yellow color and long sweet finish, although could use a bit more acidity. Crowd pleaser with huge peking duck feast on New Year’s Eve.

June 24, 2020 - Not enough acid. Unlike previous bottles this had an off taste, though the bottle seemed technically sound. Not deemed worth drinking.

July 1, 2017 - Deep gold in colour. Shows piercing aromas of sweet lemon, apricot jam and honey against a backdrop of honeysuckle and linden. So brilliantly textured with a gentle creaminess and lift from energizing acidity. So long and lingering.

October 23, 2016 - Mature nose with a hint of petrol. Golden color, thick and luxurious. Stone fruit, brisk acidity, long finish, almost like ice wine . Great example of aged riesling .

June 10, 2013 - A lovely birthday lunch with Vouvray, Bordeaux and a Riesling. (David's.): Extremely ripe and viscous and bursting with ripe mango, pineapple, orange citrus and apricot flavors and aromas. Plenty sweet, but a little unfocused and it could use more acidic lift as it comes off as a bit ponderous. A-/B+.

October 6, 2012 - San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 10/6/2012 (Carlsbad, California): Don't know if this was the "Goldkapsul" or the regular bottling. Clear light golden-honey color. Delicious aromas and flavors of banana oil, pine needles, apricot, honey, nectarine, candied tangerine peel. Tropical and exotic, unctuous and hedonistic. My #2 and group's SECOND PLACE.

September 19, 2012 - popped and poured. color straw. nose intoxicating fruit and botrytis. palate shows super-rich very ripe fruit. a little more RS than acid leaving this feeling a bit unbalanced to me, but great length on finish. nice but not amazing.
