December 23, 2018 - This was my last bottle from the cellar and I was expecting more of the second to last drank at Thanksgiving - noticeably past its prime, unfortunately. However, the cork on this last bottle was in much better condition, which led me to conclude the second bottle had a bit of air seep in. This last bottle was definitely past it's prime, but it was much crisper in taste. Purple, almost brownish plum color, with obvious fines swirling throughout. Subdued nose full of sandlewood and bitter cherries, a very soft taste, followed by an aromatic, almost innocuous finish. This was completely different than when I had consumed in more than 10 years ago, but though people say "different" isn't always better, experiences like this from this Chateau always keeps me coming back.

December 22, 2017 - A private dinner at a friend's (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): Mature, has aged well, lovely richness and depth, leather and forest floor, well endowed with black fruit, harmonious, very good length. A classic.

November 8, 2015 - Terrible cork so feared the worst. The worst blew off quickly & the wine was very good. Fully mature light in color & old school aromas. What it does reveal is its vintage. Those of us lucky to taste 1990 will know what I mean. 1990 has a very discernible palette mostly on the mid to finish that is Rich & endowed with rich dark fruits & a totally ripe flavor. Find it & you'll know.

January 1, 2015 - Drinking a case now for 22 years. Deep garnet, slight orange at rim, rich Bordeaux nose, rich, deep, wonderful Bordeaux flavors and an extra long finish. Three bottles left.

March 19, 2014 - What a beautifully aged Saint Emilion! I didn't cellar this bottle, but the condition of the cork makes me think it was well cared for. Plenty of fresh fruit livens up the dried fruit and aged characteristics of moss, forest floor, cigar box, leather, and plenty of earth. There is above average depth and complexity, though not of the level of the top wines. Still, perfect balance and plenty of interest from some layers of flavor make this a very good wine and a great example of aged Saint Emilion GC. lovely.
