Very ripe and noticeably tannic to start, making it less approachable or classically Vosne. This brightened up nicely. Retasted 30 minutes later(also cooled down), this showed so much power with black and red cherry, plus impressive concentration, nearing a good sense of balance. Better to cellar longer, 94+ point potential.

    September 1, 2021 - Opened at 5pm and served at 9pm. Amazing structure with dark fruit, cinnamon, minerals and earth. Great structure with good punchy. Really liked it.

    June 3, 2021 - Garnet in color, so heavy almost like a Syrah upon opening. With air, damn, Cros P magic. Such fineness, intricate layers and layers of opulent spice, red/dark fruit, woody touch, slight oak, but all in perfect balance and just so attractive. Huge wine really, bigger-than-most-Richebourg structure if that makes sense. Every new glass offers more flavors, in another layer, in another dimension, one berry here, another there. Pure precision on the palate, especially for a generally overripe vintage. 95+

    June 29, 2020 - Dark cherry, oak spice, herbs and cinnamon on the nose. Palate shadowed the nose with a lovely mineral attack. Amazing structure on the palate which became expansive and grippy with air. Tightly knitted and high density. It has just entered its early drinking window with plenty of upside.

    September 7, 2018 - Slow oxed for 3 hours before drinking. Nose was a bit closed with flower petal, and oak spice. Palate was open with very good length and power. It had a more solid fruit compared to th 07 Rouget CP on the side. Certainly will age gracefilly. Needs time for the oak to integrate. Very good.

    November 9, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Beautiful ripe nose displaying decadent red and black fruit, raspberry jelly, crushed blackberry, black cherry, caramel, cinnamon, a hint of sous bois and earth. Excellent concentration, packed decadent raspberry and blackberry, medium acidity, good mineral presence and a long decadent red fruit driven finish. This is a very ripe and opulent wine that needs another five to ten years to reach the youthful peak.

    June 25, 2017 - Winos' excellent adventure in France; 6/22/2017-6/27/2017 (All over France): Expressive nose displaying decadent red fruits, raspberry, black cherry, dry cherry, spicy spices, a hint of sous bois and earth. Excellent concentration, nicely layered decadent red fruit, good acidity, nice earthy mineral, a hint of tannins, and a long sweet red fruit driven finish. It is about five years away from reaching the youthful peak. We are having pizza once again and this complements very well.

    January 5, 2017 - A Few of My Favorite Things !! (@ Oegstgeest - the Netherlands): Seductive aromatics of red fruits, minerals and earth. On the palate silky, gorgeous pure flavours of red purple pinot fruit and sweet spices, with superb tension and energy towards the satin-textured finish. An amazing wine that justifies its cult reputation.
