June 27, 2017 - Impressive acid and judicious oak, especially by Shafer standards, make this lively and quite interesting. In a blind flight it might have fooled me for hot vintage Burgundy, Cru Macon in particular. It should last for several more years, and perhaps improve marginally.
February 7, 2015 - Tons of honeysuckle, lemon zest and a little butter. Really good Chardonnay.
July 30, 2014 - This wine is rocking; it has a few more years in it. Light gold color, modest oaky/buttery notes with solid green fruit flavors, hints of caramel, and mild acidity.
January 7, 2014 - This one surprised the hell out of me. I thought well beyond its expiration date, but this bottle is really drinking well. Plenty of oak and butter, but a core of still very crisp, tart fruit that is just electric. Much better now than it was early in its life (for my taste).
November 23, 2012 - Perhaps past it's prime, but this was dull, fruitless, inoffensive and unexciting
November 4, 2012 - OK for older Cali chard, made in the big extracted style (not my fav), but well made, nose was very nice and palate was rich, caramelized fruit with the oak still obvious, thick mouthfeel, nothing brite about this but again pleasing, def'ly could taste the age on this one even though only 6 years old
October 28, 2012 - Rich creamy Chard with big viscous mouthfeel and just the right amount of Oak.
July 20, 2012 - Nice but just not that special, especially for the price. Are other napa chardonnays better
March 11, 2012 - It took a while for fruit to emerge. A bit better than a year ago. Some acidity on the finish.
September 26, 2011 - Enjoyed this bottle much more than the last, drinking well now for our taste. Less oak, a bit sweeter, but still crisp.
