June 4, 2020 - Not bad for 15 years. Pretty toasty at opening, After a while, dark chocolate flavors emerge.

January 7, 2013 - clear ruby in the glass. pleasant nose with jammy dark fruit, currant and oak. good acidity with ample black cherry, leather with smokey oak notes. still a little harsh on the mid palate with gripping tannins. good but not great. can hold 1-2 more years.

March 17, 2012 - So this wine was a total surprise, let me explain. I tried the Souverain Cab a few years back and was not impressed. At the time it was way too oaky for my liking. I decided to revisit this wine with a friend, who like myself had tried it a few years ago and was equally unimpressed. I brown bagged it and made her blind taste. Her initial reaction was old world! The oak was gone and what was left was cherry, some dark fruit, spice, and great acidity. It went perfect with the espresso dark chocolate she brought over. Needless to say, she was shocked when I showed her the bottle, as we had dismissed it just a few years before. This wine is drinking lovely now, and I am so glad I gave it another chance and few years, it was worth the wait.
