Nose is more Chardonnay than Viognier (where are the flowers?), but still interesting - stony lemons, perhaps a touch of marmelade. Big burst of lemony fruit, pushing towards pineapple tropical flavors. Lip-smacking acidity and a very long finish. Ripe at 14.4%, but not hot...alc remains hidden beneath the fruit and acidity. This bottle drank very well, but if I had any more I'd drink them soon...I'd worry about loss of the lovely freshness.

    March 6, 2011 - Yes, there is an oxidized quality to the wine. But there is remarkable acidity and great aromas and flavors of lemons. Very long finish and great complexity. The wine demands your attention. I left about 2 oz in a wine glass over night on the counter. Tasted in the morning there was no additional oxidation (perhaps even less noticeable?) and the fresh lemon was there is spades. Very interesting wine therefore 91 pts from me.

    August 7, 2010 - Like a number of others, my bottle was off somehow. I don't think it was oxidized, but it was sort of funky. Didn't taste like viognier at all. Some odd chemical component. Disappointing from such a great winery.

    July 12, 2010 - Oxidized nose. Smells almost corked - like cardboard. Hints of lemon & honeysuckle aromas, strong grapefruit flavors in the mouth. One taster spit it out immediately! Quite a lot of firm acid. Finsihes with oxidized almost dry sherry finish. Cork was perfect, bought direct from the winery and stored in temprature controlled cellar. This is clearly not a wine made for the long haul.
