May 21, 2024 - Dark fruit including blackberry, cherry and blueberry. Subtle spice of pepper, chocolate and tobacco. Not their best offering from this vineyard, but still tasty.
May 13, 2024 - Retail $55. Very Heavy Bottle (704g; 1lb 8.8oz). I had just popped a 2009 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Las Alturas Vineyard and it was singing (despite being *really* big). So, when my local restaurant was out of the Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot, I let them talk me into this one. Meh. Sure, I expected this would be "Wagner Family of Wines" big, but I did not think it would be this syrupy and concentrated. It really comes off as a syrah or even a Zinfandel (a very warm climate Zin) and that is not what I want in a Pinot. Sure, it is technically "Very Good" but this is really not a Pinot and the vineyard deserves better. Very Good. 88 Points.

May 12, 2024 - Bought two for 22.5/b from from local eclectic independent shop, part of 4-shop group in the state; this is #1. Dark purple; black cherry nose, some oak; red and black fruits, big mouthfeel, not elegant but tasty. Serve with dinner for 8 so nothing left for the 24h test, but I'd expect it to hold well and perhaps improve. "PN for Cab lovers" has a point; a hard sell for red Burg lovers. Tempted to re-buy. Hefty bottle with serious wax capsule--signaling a big wine? Quality/age/price: Notable+.
May 7, 2024 - some of the better and reliable California pinot noirs out there - the 2022 may be too young to drink now or maybe the year is not as good as previous vintages....

April 1, 2024 - Pinot for cab lovers. Thick, vanilla covered sweet cherries, minimal nose and finish. Could use more acid.
March 31, 2024 - This is for the members of the “Big Pinot Club” at which it excels. Very dark color. Kind of musky and mildly oaky on the nose with with ripe currants and blackberries. Lighter on the palate than the color would indicate. There is a taste kind of like the tree bark and cloves we get with red wines from Chile. Really nice balance between the fruit, oak, alcohol and acid. More red fruit and red licorice toward the finish.
March 5, 2024 - Easy drinking pinot noir. Got it on clearance at Fred Meyer for much less than the sticker price, which is a bit high when you can get much better Pinot out of Oregon at that price point. Red fruit nose, sour cherry, with more red fruit up front. Not a lot of layers to this.
