November 13, 2019 - Drinking very well. Clean. Nice fruit. The posted drinking window is way too conservative. This will go several more years.

October 15, 2018 - Lovely wine, hitting its peak! Allow this wine at least 30 minutes to open up as at first the saddle sweat aroma is a little overpowering, however, with air this fades into the background to provide just the right amount of “funk.” On the nose black cherry, raspberry and leather come out strong with dried herbs (i.e. sage, thyme and oregano), licorice, cinnamon and white pepper. Further aeration reveals white pepper, lavender, asphalt and the aforementioned sweaty saddle (albeit in a mellowed state). On the nose this wine would be a 96-98 as it offers all the complexities that one would hope for in a Chateauneuf du Pape, however, the palate, while good, falls short of greatness as it lacks precision of flavor and the finish is medium in length. The tannins are well integrated, but still have some grip and the mouthfeel is round and medium bodied. The palate offers dried cranberries with a black tea and spice tinged finish. Excellent wine!

November 25, 2017 - Great nose, where the ripe fruit has aquired a nice touch of leather. On the palate smooth yet rich, elegant and long. A Classic CNdP, great food-wine. Benefits from decanting, my bottle is still in good shape after two Days.

August 26, 2017 - Dark ruby. Plum lifted by alcohol on the nose. A complex flavor profile with plum, licorice, sweet spices and a trace of funk on the palate. What's not to like?

March 14, 2017 - Not what I would consider to be a typical CdP, but a clean, elegant more feminine expression of Grenache. Mouthwatering acid balanced with restrained fruit. Nice nose with an medium amount of depth that is interesting. Have another bottle and looking forward to sharing it with friends.

December 3, 2016 - At Le Coq Rico w the NJ crew, looking for a CdP to complement the dinner. This was off their list, splash decanted and had with our chicken.

Medium, translucent ruby color. Nose of marinated cherry and herbs. Palate of dark cherry, baking spices, forest floor. Good fruit through the mid palate, medium finish.

Nicely made, good fruit and layered finish. Solid CdP, not especially complex but solid fruit, nicely aged and drinking well now. Way overpriced in the restaurant...even by NYC standards

November 13, 2016 - PnP. Schott Zwiesel Forte Burgundy glasses. Fairly dark red for a wine that is also transparent with some orange tints at the rim. Muted nose of cherry and garrigue. First taste is earthy cherry fruit plus some garrigue and tertiary notes of forest floor and sous bois. This bottle is fairly complex. I bought this from the cellar several years post release. The cork looked brand new with staining only on the very bottom of the cork.

February 14, 2016 - Drunk in a restaurant. A nice mix of cherry, garrigue and tabacco. Not especially complex or silky but nice balance and well integrated flavours.

January 20, 2016 - I scored this an 84 in 10/14. Totally different tonight. Super. No funk. A little sweetness. Still silky. This seems much more friendly than their 2005 I had a couple of nights ago. Good typicity here. A redeemer. 90
