April 8, 2019 - Golden yellow in color with a faintly spicy, lemony nose. The rich, thick fruited palate has honey, lemon, some pepper, a streak of minerality and a touch of toasted nuts. Good acidity, but not as much as I would have thought, great balance. Long spicy finish. This seemed more precise after a few hours when I returned to it. Suggests that a decant would be in order -- or just wait another 3 or 4 years. 93 now, but there is an upside to it.

April 4, 2019 - Very good indeed. Lots of minerality (!) here, yet it is both rich and round with some garrigue showing; young and smooth, certainly approachable

March 25, 2019 - Chave and cassoulet: I found a glass of this fascinating and compelling, though I'm not sure how much I'd genuinely enjoy drinking a few glasses over a dinner. Seems like a wine that's more cerebral than genuinely pleasurable for my tastes. Lots of buttery popcorn and butterscotch on the nose - I wonder if there's a bit of botrytis here - as well as that waxy yellow/white fruited flavour profile I find in many Rhone whites. The palate presence is very round and smooth, almost glossy, though there's very little acidity here and the finish feels a touch warm.

March 25, 2019 - The King in the North! (Chicago, IL): These are wines that have always been challenging for me, and I've had lots of issues trying to understand them. This one had so much buttered caramel corn on the nose and palate, but somehow also managed to not be cloying, despite its lack of acidity. I really don't know how it happened. A bit of brown spice as well here. There's a really broad and waxy palate profile, but a slight bitterness also gives this some length.

February 2, 2019 - La Tablee: Celebratory Dinner (BYO) (26 Bridge Street, Brooklyn): Similar to some of the other vintages except this one had a ton of vanilla bean in addition to the honey and white flowers and all of that.
