  April 29, 2011 - 100% Marsanne from the estate grown fruit of Purisima Mountain Vineyard located in the Santa Ynez Valley. Fermented and aged in neutral oak cask. Bright medium + gold core with medium legs. Clean nose, medium intensity, fully developed aromas of dried peaches and honeysuckle, toasted almonds and marzipan. Dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol 13.8% abv, full bodied, medium + flavor intensity, rich honey stewed stone fruit, baked yellow apples, touch of cream, toasted nuts and mineral notes on the medium length finish. A good quality wine that has reached its peak and maybe is in decline. For drinking right now. About $20 US retail. 950 cases produced.

  April 17, 2010 - Honeyed, somewhat floral (but not sweet at all). Lacking acidity, this falls flat. Pretty disappointed, perhaps this is why Marsanne is usually paired with Roussanne.
