June 30, 2023 - A murky and dark ruby in color. Beautiful and powerful soft fruit bouquet.
At 30 mins.
Massive on the palate, very dark to prune fruit dominant hits right at the back palate, with hints of licorice and other stewed dark fruits, but richly integrated with oak flavors. Tannin is mild, acid even milder, beautiful combination.1 person found this helpful Comment -

July 19, 2022 - Still a young wine, this is your big boy. Plenty of olives, dark berries, Shiraz tell-tale. Juicy stuff, unbridled Australian. Hard to resist.

January 11, 2022 - Delicious. Echoing notes from NYWINE68 below, prunes (that you want to eat!) and figs on the nose, chocolate, cassis, stewed plums and olive tapenade. Medium acidity, long finish. Tannins still have good grip. Recommend decanting for a minimum of one hour, still drinking young, has another 8-10 years left. Consumed with a beef bourguignon sandwich at Nice Matin in NYC. They did a great job decanting a tough cork.

November 19, 2021 - Deep purple/red color with faint fading at the edges. Aromatic nose of plums and roasted meat. Fine, intense fruit, nothing overblown. Black cherries, raspberries, roasted meats, pepper. Elegant. Plums on the mid-palate. Very fine tannins, great acidity, good balance. Finishes long and lingering with dark chocolate and cherry notes with a bit of spice. Perhaps a bit of heat, but nothing bothersome. Becomes smoother with air and the small hint of heat dissipates. I'd decant this for 60 minutes before service. Could drink well for another 8 years.
