December 8, 2020 - this is drinking quite nicely.
December 15, 2018 - An interesting dip into the cellar, but just a bit passed it's prime. Color shading towards brick red. Fruit still showing well, with raspberry and baking spices. However, both the tanins and acidity are detectably on the downswing. Adequate structure still there, but definitely drink soon!
October 11, 2018 - A bright and clear dark raspberry color, but an odd note on the nose. A bit chemical-ish and spice of the baking sort, one of 'em anyway. Tangy, lots of acid but not unpleasant, but not delicious either. Sigh - it's obviously going to be one of those nights.
October 22, 2017 - This bottle showed exceptionally well on pop and pour. It feels perfectly aged and the tartness and berries are integrated well with the acid and tannins. Some Oregon Pinots are built for aging and this appears to be one of them.
April 29, 2017 - this is ready and singing. Drink up, hard to imagine it will be better later
April 2, 2016 - lots of plum and cherry notes on the nose and palate. Slightly sweet on the attack, followed by a layer of depth. drinking well and probably will be for a couple more years. That said, there is something missing in that the wine lacks any spice character. This could be related to the age or could just be the wine itself.
February 1, 2016 - It smells like tobacco, bark, cherry and black currant (cassis). The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. Impressed how drinkable this wine is after 10 years
October 19, 2014 - This is drinking very well right now, while a couple of years ago I found this wine austere. I didn't really like the wine then. Quite the contrary, I find it now soft and open, with sweet fruit notes of strawberry. There is mild acidity and fine tannins to balance. I served this to wine lovers who are not connoisseurs, and they enjoyed it very much. I'd advise drinking now before it fades.
May 8, 2014 - This bottle was way off when opened. Saved it for the next day, uncorking for about 6 hours, and it was just fine. Definitely aberrant from other bottles of the vintage when opened, but was closer to the norm after long aeration.
March 30, 2014 - A strong showing from a classic from the region. Didn't seem overly alcoholic on opening, but had some over present oak ones. This blew off after 5-10 minutes. The right amount of complex oak nose remained along with fruit and spice. Taste is strawberries and some vanilla with delicate, elegant overall balance and respectable acid structure.
