Community Tasting Notes 6

February 23, 2024 - T's 45th Birthday (Søllerød Kro): From magnum. Beautiful expression of wild and bright cherry fruit with an amazing intensity. The fruit is accompanied by complex spices and roses in the aftertaste that is long and persistent.
    An absolutely stunning wine! 98-99p

October 15, 2022 - Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2022 Edition; 10/14/2022-10/16/2022 (Piedmont, Italy): From a beautiful magnum straight from the immaculate wine cellar of La Ciau del Tornavento.
Served blind and a table of demanding palates went wow! Frankly that’s as good as a tasting note we can this of for this excellent wine and definitely has improved since 2017 when we tried it last ( Papies 95 from the same cellar). We actually guessed it as 2004 from a good modernist like Voerzio and indeed fits the textbook very well. Exceptional nose, open and sings from start to finish, good weight of ripe fruit on the palate, harmonious and simply excellent. Was eclipsed only by the 1999 Sarmassa ( Papies 98) . Exceptional wine with a lot of life ahead.

April 28, 2021 - 6 hour decant. Bold red fruits, notably red cherry. hints of earth, mushrooms. A touch floral. In the drinking window but should have another decade at least.

December 11, 2018 - Acker BYO 2018 (Tribeca Grille): This is a nice wine, but it's still much too young to really be drinking. Give it more time.
