April 9, 2022 - D5 DipWSET FORTIFIED WINES with Adam Chase and Matt Gaughan; 4/9/2022-4/10/2022 (St Francis' Yacht Club San Francisco): A: Pale god
N: Medium (+) nose of lemon curd, dry tarragon, dreid apricot, hazelnut, almond, macadamia nuts
P: Medium sweet, medium (+) acidity, hgh alcohol, full body [instructor says medium +], medium (+) intensity, medium finish
Not cloying so its balanced. The intensity is good though the finish clipped and the wine lacks real complexity. This is a good quality wine which is not suitable for ageing.

April 5, 2022 - I’m no connoisseur of white port. This disappoints. Honeysuckle and honey predominate over some white grape, quince, pear, and minerality. This should be served over ice or in mixed drinks as a sweeter, flabbier, less interesting alternative to Lillet blanc… After a couple of weeks trying to like this with friends and family, I poured it down the sink.

August 15, 2017 - Deep gold color. Medium plus nose shows dried spice, honeycomb, banana peel, dried lemon peel, bruised kiwi, heat, brine. Palate is obviously hot, sweet but it's balanced with other notes, bruised yellow apple, candied orange peel, banana, older passionfruit, finishes short than expected, alcohol covers it up there. Decent but I see where there are better examples certainly possible even though I haven't had them yet.

February 11, 2017 - So, a mid-priced sauterne walks into a bar and hooks-up with a mid-priced ruby port....they make whoopee...and this is the result. It's sweet. It's fine. It's drinkable. Beyond that, not sure there is much to report. Currently, the CT average score of 85 seems about right.

August 30, 2016 - Drank with dessert. Rather sweeter than expected and a bit thin. Okay but not something we would serve guests.

April 4, 2014 - Alcohol in nose. Notes of red apple, dried apricot, cinnamon. Full bodied, even oily. Medium acidity. Short and a bit alcohol finish.
