March 14, 2021 - Lovely expression of a Bordeaux blend. Extremely well balanced. Still plenty of fruit. Could go another 1015 years in my opinion. Just simply lovely.

March 14, 2021 - Drinking quite well now. Still plenty of fruit. Estimate this has another 10 to 15 years to go. Just a lovely Bordeaux expression. Tasted with a 1987 Opus and a 2003 Poetry (purple label) and the Facets was on par with the Poetry in depth. Both much better than the Opus.

April 26, 2019 - This was dark garnet colored and medium full bodied, bold and bright vibrant, slightly obtuse, black and red currant and ripe plum fruits with accents of bright floral and cedar, mocha chocolate and notes of anise with moderate lingering tannins on the structured finish.

February 14, 2018 - Awesome wine. Totally at peak. Rich and full bodied. An eclectic blend that paired well with steak and lobster. Dark notes, smooth finish. Wish I had more than two left!

December 1, 2017 - Very nice bottle. Showing all the right signs of maturation without bricking. Still has a few good years of peak remaining. Cheers!

April 2, 2016 - For a 10+ year old Napa Cab blend this had a TON of ripe fruit. Notes of cheery, blackberry, and toasted oak lead to a long drawn out finish. If you have some of this in your cellar I would recommend sitting on it for at least another year.

    May 31, 2012 - Needs 1 hour decant.
Only then does the nose reveal pretty crème de cassis and flowers. Palate has a very serious approach. This does not behave like a lesser sibling. Black fruits of currant, pomegranate, blackberries and black raspberries. Slightly distracting is just a wee bit of astringency, something I find inherent of the vintage and not the label. Tannins are complicated and finely woven and acidity is near spot on. I get some dustiness and lead pencil shavings. Finish is long and remains true to all the black fruits I mentioned. I give it an extra point for its poise and elegance.
Not a bad showing. This from a 375 and I have a couple of 750s I will certainly not touch for a bunch of years.
