February 2, 2017 - I'd have to disagree with most of the recent reviews that says this wine is way past peak. While not exactly fresh, I do think it's still showing well and is a great example of a more restrained style of cabernet that some might prefer. Drunk undecanted, it came out with a medium red, slight brickish edge and a very pleasant nose of rose, lavender and some cherry elements. Tannins are still medium as is the acidity, both being well balanced with the fruit at this stage. Admittedly the nose is a little subtle but showed well for a 21 year old wine, especially from California. This wine typically earns high marks from British reviewers who are perhaps a little more biased to a claret style. A well made, serious wine.

February 9, 2015 - This wine is still shockingly young. The dark fruit is extremely forward and the tannins a touch too much in the fore, and yet it has a smoothness to it. That being said, this has all of the elements to be a great wine over the next couple of decades with earth notes balancing the fruit and tannin. I would hide it away for another ten years, as it will certainly be a better wine with more time. Consumed without food; would have paired well with a variety of dark savories.

November 21, 2014 - Youthful. Brilliant bright fruit, caramel. Sweet molasses, bing cherry, smooth tannins, excellent structure and balance. The label says 12.8 percent alcohol. No sign of age at all ... If only I had another bottle or two.
