December 15, 2019 - This is for two more bottles. I have had two recently that have been amazing. And two that have been oxidized. Now two more. The first was oxidized. My heart sank as I saw the golden yellow brown color. Yes. Oxidized.

Bottle two. Poured with the bright clear yellow white like the good bottles. Ah. Success. A sip. Wet newspaper. Mold. Corked! Foiled again!

One bottle left. Let us cross our fingers.

December 12, 2019 - And this one is as good as the one before the last. Clearly some of these bottles are flawed. Those that aren't are really delicious. Nice acidity and "tension" (I know this is a controversial descriptor, but it seems to fit here). This is just so well put together -- tropical fruits, hints of lemon (more like Meyer lemon), and some nice acidity. Amazing to think this is going on 13 years.

December 11, 2019 - Ok, this one was oxidized. Perhaps this is a victim of premox? The last bottle was so lovely. This one definitely not unless you like highly oxidized wines......

November 24, 2019 - Wow. This is really lovely. I think I had a bottle of this a few weeks ago that was badly oxidized. I almost threw out the others. Glad I didn’t. This one is fresh and beautiful. Lovely notes of tropical fruits, white flowers, salinity, almonds and many other nice flavors. This is amazing, particularly if I paid around 10 per bottle as it seems!

August 6, 2013 - Still drinking well - hasn't lost its fruit or its zip. No need to wait but also no rush.

(REGAIN Kerbiquet (Bouchot)) Regain Dear Friends, I enjoy wine. With that statement out of the way, there are few wines I’ve enjoyed as much as the Regain. This was just confirmed and it’s one of the best unknown wines in Pouilly-Fume or Sancerre. It is from the ultimate insider’s source, the Kerbiquet family, and this wine will make many a taster stop in their tracks. If fresh and vibrant, even piquant, green-tinged Sauvignon Blanc covered in shards of glass and melted lemon-lime oil (with no trans-fats) is for you, this is your new special occasion wine priced like a minor splurge. We offered the regular Kerbiquet Pouilly-Fume a few weeks ago and like that wine, the Regain is the best of its class. It is for fans of Didier Dagueneau’ Pur-Sang but for those that wish to pay 1/2 to 1/3 the price - It actually reminds me more of the best wines in Sancerre (like Boulay’s Comtesse) and it is the Kerbiquet family’s finest effort made in very small amounts (I believe they only produced 150 cases of this). From what they translate as “exceptional terroir of virgin Kimmeridgiennes soil, it is a wine of breed that gives authentic and concentrated aromas. From very old vines - outstanding - our best effort for ageing”. While many wines stop short of going through the looking glass, think of the Regain like throwing a perfectly ripe baseball through your family room window - intentionally. Should age for years. This wine is very difficult to find, I’ve only had it twice (not for a lack of trying) and it represents the very best value at the top-end in this region. The Gold Medal (MDO) winner for Pouilly Fume in Paris last year. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (one of the highest Sancerre/Pouilly-Fume recommendations of the last few years). ONE SHIPMENT ONLY directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance - only 30 cases for the entire US and we are only getting a small part of that - the rest is for restaurants: 2006 Kerbiquet Pouilly-Fume “Regain” (MDO/Paris 2007) Please give us your maximum number and we will allocate accordingly Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Loire7999
