December 29, 2019 - We have become fans of the clones - and the clone wars, ie which clone is best.
This year of clone 6 was quite tasty several years ago and still pretty good last night. We opened, poured a small glass or tasting, and let it open up for 30 min before pouring a bit more
Nice elements of fruit, tannins mostly done, and not quite as robust as 2 years ago. Everyone enjoyed the wine at the family dinner, and noticed it gaining in robustness throughout the evening.
    Last bottle of this year.
    Advice - drink now.

August 28, 2016 - A library club member benefit, obtained from BV in 2014. Kept chilled on its side ever since. (Nice engraved filigree bottle, not the standard paper label) A collector's edition bottle if you will. Popped to find copious crystallized sediment on the cork and loads in the bottle, a very fine dust which we used coffee filters to filter into the decanter for about a 45 minute wait until our ribeye dinner. A little herbal nose(eucalyptus?). Dark purple, just a hint of ruby at glass edge, nice full entry, excellent dark fruit with well-integrated tannins and oak with just the right amount of acidity remaining. Just beginning to get the very faintest touch of dark plum/raisin character. Just the slightest bit of tartness on the back end. If you have this, I'd drink up now. Likely only going downhill from here.....

July 8, 2016 - Good American version of a Bordeaux - not QUITE on the mark, but close. It's got that California fruit but the Bordeaux lower-level earthy notes. Wisps of bell pepper, licorice, leather, lavender. Not certain it's worth the price we paid (club shipment, so it goes), but it's certainly not something I'd ever send back either.

May 20, 2016 - Very nice drinking wine, served with a couple Rib Eye steak cooked on an outdoor grill while camping. Great food. V.smooth, clean front end, smooth clean back end. Still had good alcohol content with the easy drinking attitude of a 2004. Yes, we are starting to drink our older vintages. "Ya can't take them with you!"
