    May 7, 2014 - A nice PS. Was a little flat upon opening. Tannins and not much else. Took and hour in decanter to develop and start showing the fruit and spice. Paired well with smoke and spice, some balsamic glaze.

    August 2, 2009 - Been open a few hours now - gotta give PS its space. Reddish purple color. Nose of blackberries and black pepper. Intense dark cherry and blackberry taste, firm tannins, fairly long finish with a little chocolate mixed in. Competently made, but doesn't have the "wow" factor (for me).

    June 30, 2009 - Did not decant and drank out of plastic red cups. Nevertheless, sweet tannins. Nice wine. Short finish. Pretty decent for the price though.

    January 17, 2009 - Bottle was open for 2-3 hours, then poured into a decanter half hour before dinner. Color: nice dark purple, violet along the edges. Nose: decent fruit & spice mix.
    Started off with some sharp tannins, but mellowed rather quickly. Blackberry & plum on the palate. Pepper and spice in good balance with the acidity.

    November 7, 2008 - Very tight nose at opening. Took a couple of hours in the decanter to mellow it out. Lots of fruit for a PS. Went well with BBQ. After 3+ hours, it became real smooth. Very long, nice finish.

    nose: black and blue fruit, baking spice-cloves and molasses with a hint of tar and rubber.
    Big tannins - both grapey and woody. Plenty of fruit and spice and the wine softens with time, but remains fairly tannnic and rough. The aromatics are not quite following through to the palate - this one may need a bit morre time in the bottle.
    Day 2 softened a bit and was showing a bit more fruit; grape bubbleyum and blueberry compote. I'll stash my other bottle for a bit.
