Community Tasting Notes 6

October 30, 2009 - Explosion of beef jerky and cassis on the nose. Smokey and ripe cherry notes on the palate with a hit of oak and lots o black tea on the finish, although tad bit hot and unbalanced. Somewhat hollow in the mid palate. Went well with the Boston Market rotisserie chicken and veggies!

January 3, 2008 - Nice light berry aromas. Drinks easy. It was a nice compliment to out fresh veggie and salmon dinner.

October 6, 2007 - Nose was muted with a bit of bitter cherry. Color was on the light side. After a splash decant, palate started out as tart black cherry but it developed over time resemble more sweet cherry, but always with some tartness and sharp acidity, and some minerality. The mouth feel was adequate but not full and rounded. The finish was moderate to long. It developed more complexity in the glass and the decanter over 2 hours. No negative characteristics. If 85-89 points is very good to excellent, then this gets an 85 as the low end of very good.

January 18, 2007 - Very nice bottle of pinot, soft, light, light color - do decant for an hour or two for it to loosen up for more flavor - paired with baked brie = yummyness. Subtle fruit, and earth flavors - vegetal on the finish, distinct bell pepper, kinda tasted like pizza actually.

November 24, 2006 - 90, light and suspicious at first, but opened up nicely with dirt, light fruit in an hour.
