December 18, 2021 - Ruby red in color. 14.5% ABV. Sensational nose of red fruits, lavender, road tar and blood. Medium body with perfect acidity. The rusticity is very appealing. Dried cherries, iron, black licorice and blood orange on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Glorious Barolo that is just singing at twenty years of age. Best over the next 3-5 years.

November 5, 2021 - My last bottle of this, and second one that I've had in the last month. I had to doublecheck the label, as this came across as more reminiscent of the Giachini, with a nose of raisined fruit that is both powerful and feeling fully mature. Lighter-bodied on the palate, which is consistent with the body last month - I guess at 20 years of age, it's fair to expect a little bottle variation, and this is a good example of that.

April 16, 2021 - One of my last bottles from a case bought on release.

Black cherry fruit on the nose, with a background note of tar.

Lively on the palate - in fairness, the last bottle I tried of this didn't show nearly as well, so a little bottle variation here. Decent acidity framing ripe black & red fruit on the palate. I would place Corino's style in the modernist camp, but at 20 years of age, no noticeable wood at this point.

March 27, 2021 - Deep garnet to deep tawny, dried fig, dried cherry, cinnamon, all-spice, and mushroom, on the first nose, followed by hints of cassis, blueberry, violets and menthol, mature dark fruit on the attack followed by spicy cherry, earth, umami, teethy tannins and moderate acidity, finishes long and strong with more earth, dried fruits, cherry, hazelnut, and lingering wood, black tea and Asian spices

Note: you win some, loos some with mature Barolo, this one is a win some

January 12, 2021 - This wine really needs time to open up, and the wait definitely pays off. It has incredible depth and great complexity of flavor—fruit, menthol, tar, tobacco, but no one flavor dominates. It is drinking beautifully and should continue to evolve over the next 2-3 years, so we pushed the drinking window out to 2024.

October 13, 2020 - More black fruits than red here on the nose. This is okay, but to be honest, were it not for the Tar notes on the nose, this doesn't really remind me of a Barolo. Ripe fruit, and for my tastes, a little deficient in acidity. My recollection is that I've liked this better in the past.

September 26, 2020 - Crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, road tar, menthol and leather. Medium body with strong acidity and tannins. The fruit keeps the tannins in check. Dried cherries, mint, chocolate and tobacco on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. In a really good spot at 19 years of age with enough fruit to keep things interesting. Just a pleasure. Best over the next several years.

February 22, 2020 - Red and black fruit with cool menthol on the nose - very nice.

You can still feel some tannin here on the palate, but this is fairly expansive at this point, with good persistence. I like it quite a bit tonight, but the unresolved tannin still seems to indicate that this wine has time in front of it.

August 28, 2019 - Gorgeous nose that soars from the glass with black & red fruits and menthol.

Seamless on the palate, with good acidity & persistence. Pretty tasty, medium-bodied, and just lacking a little more complexity to push it into the "very good" category. That said, I'm enjoying this today, and glad that I still have a few bottles left.

June 13, 2019 - Drinking very well right now - translucent ruby in the glass, with red fruits and a dash o' funk on the nose.

Seamless, with good acidity, and a little tannic nip on the finish. Plenty of time in front of it as well.
