August 6, 2019 - This did not meet my expectations, nor was it as good as the 2009 I enjoyed last year. The 2009 was highly floral nose, but not as rich as anticipated. The 2005 was richer, dark fruit, but lacking the long finish and complexity.

December 25, 2018 - Truly impressive after 4 hr decant, but the nose was bursting with mature red fruit flavors and depth even on opening. Incredibly complex and with smooth wonderful mouthfeel for which HA is famous, this wine packs a refined punch with BlackBerry, red fruit, forest floor, charcoal, and loads of soft minerality. Paired beautifully with our filets and broccoli. Still perhaps has some time to potentially evolve but it VERY close to fully mature.

July 1, 2018 - Decanted two hours before tasting. A little maturity is showing in the color of the wine at the rim, but otherwise the appearance is intense and deep. Sweet black currants on the nose with highlights of chocolate, vanilla and cedar. There is an intriguing complexity of unsmoked cigar tobacco and spice coming through with aeration. Exhibiting more of a red fruit profile on the palate and has good acidity and a long finish. Excellent ripe California Cab. I don't think it improves much from here, but it is not at risk of fading.

December 9, 2017 - Decanted a few hours. Looks young, nice and ruby without being too deep in color. Big nose. Smoke, creosote, earthy notes, plum and blueberry all come to mind. A bit tannic initially. But nice long palate of dark berries. Still, I think some of the other 100 Acres I’ve had offered more natural cab expression, less manufactured. More wood than others? But still a good wine. And a 100 point nose!

May 20, 2017 - Wow. Another Hundred Acre that rocks. This would be 100 exempt the other Hundred Acres to compare it too. Great nose of cedar and graphite. Long smooth finish.
