November 9, 2013 - Super Tasting 6 of 6 - Brunello di Montalcino with Greg (Greg's Place): (Tasted blind) More of a ripe, modern interpretation. Certainly youthful. Fruit profile is of the powdered purple grape candy variety. Some nice secondary notes of tar, violets make an appearance. Firm tannic structure. Alcohol on the nose and plate is noted and is high (discovered later 14.5%).

November 9, 2013 - Tasting Dinner Series (6 of 6); Greg does Montalcino (Greg's House): Tasted blind. Garnet in the glass with a light brick. On the nose, the fruit leans a bit dark with black cherry and plum notes, accented by some dried herbs, blood, light florals, earth and spice. On the palate, like notes, with medium acidity and quite a bit of unresolved tannin. Finish is a touch short and bitter, with some astringency and heat noted on the back end.

    November 9, 2013 - Super Tasting 6 of 6 - Greg's Brunello Dinner (Greg's House - Kitchener, ON): Tasted Blind
This was quite dark showing aromas of cherry, flowers, plum, tar and noticeable alcohol. The palate showed similar flavours of minerals, cherry, plum and tar. The finish is medium but there is quite a bit of alcohol that is sticking out on the finish. The 14.5% alcohol really sticks out here for me.
