April 17, 2019 - This was surprisingly really good! I initially opened it to put in sauce that my wife was making. I never thought that it would be a drinker given it's age, but never bet against a good Chianti from a good vintage! On the soft side, but nice earth with just enough dark fruit to make this worth drinking.

April 15, 2012 - Dried plum and earth on the nose.. Brickish on the rim.. This was fairly well balanced with decent structure. It was a typical old world wine. Went well with pasta and pizza

April 12, 2012 - This wine didn't impress me the first night I opened it. I put a little over half away and came back to it the next night and it had definitely improved and integrated better. Give this some time to sit and it'll be an enjoyable drink

August 2008 (link)(Santa Margherita Chianti Classico) A ruby-red, 100% Sangiovese, this wine has aromas of stewed tomato, stewed fruits, dark cherry, orange zest, barnyard, leather, and sawdust. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with bright cherry fruit, an underlying zesty acidity, gently gripping fruit tannins, and slightly chalky oak tannins. The finish has a delicious amaro note, and the acid cleanses the palate. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine’s typicity and style. Special Report: Chianti Classico
