October 8, 2008 - sfwine: Wines of the Jura (San Francisco): Puffeney's Cuvée Sacha is a blend of sous-voile savagnin and ouillé chardonnay: SaCha. Aromatically, there's some inobtrusive VA, plus intensely saline minerality with a moderately nutty character. Really nice and snappy in the mouth, with fresh, vibrant pear on the palate. Love the interplay here between the nutty, oxidized savagnin and the fresh, crisp, citric chardonnay. Long. I preferred this to either of the ouillé whites.
Update: This is still drinking well after four days in the fridge, without a lot of evolution. If anything it's showing more rich, juicy fruit now. Love the spine of acid here.
