September 2, 2019 - From half-bottle. For the SGN style, this is extremely dry, and there's just a residual hint of sweetness here. Plenty of acidity and heft, this is a massive wine with incredible amounts of botrytis on the nose and palate. Marmalade, green herbs, and other exotica. The alcohol here does come out on the finish a little bit, but there's so much complexity on this wine I'm willing to overlook that.

November 1, 2018 - Essentially dry, has the weight of SGN ripeness, and sufficient acid to balance the high amount of extract. botrytis shows as slight bitterness at this point. a monster of a wine and in prime shape now

August 8, 2018 - Trimbach etc. at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): From half-bottle. The cork on this was clearly corked, but fortunately the wine itself was not. This was ridiculously light in colour, to the point where we were all slightly suspicious of whether or not this actually had any botrytis in it at all. Smelling and tasting it confirms the presence of botrytis though. And even at this level, this wine is barely sweet -- that hint of sweetness is quite seductive and really draws you in. Again, since this is CFE, it's definitely got that fatter, rounder profile on the palate, but that riesling acidity sneaks up on you on the finish. Fantastic stuff.

June 16, 2016 - A Night of Truly Diverse Wines (Newtown, Sydney): Shy nose of petrol, honey, herbs and grass. Less concentrated than expected, and slightly lacking acidity. Notes of marmalade and ginger but missing some complexity.
