December 24, 2022 - Likely was delicious in its day but that day is gone. I see current vintages are highly rated and in the $100 range. Curious to try one and see what they are producing. The wine was just done, no indication the Chateau is making bad wine.

December 26, 2021 - Perhaps this exemplifies that, especially with older vintages, there are not chateaus, there are not vintages. There are bottles and provenances. After reading rave reviews was looking forward to. But was while pretty perfumed with solid traditional claret bones, thinning and just into decline. First bottle of the night was 82 Montrose, so that set a high benchmark. Will see what other bottle is like soon.

January 8, 2021 - Wonderful PnP. Superb end of life claret. Best in the first 30mins, then faded away somewhat.

    January 15, 2019 - 1985 clos la Gaffeliere
Søtere frukt, mineraler, appelsin. Litt tynnere i munn, elegant, saftig, frisk. Forbi toppen. 88

June 12, 2018 - You got to love Bordeaux. Just as long as it’s a desent Chateau, no matter what vintage, with age they will turn into quite interesting bottles.

December 13, 2012 - A little past prime but the kid's still alright. Cigar box and tobacco, black raspberry fading, lots of herbaceous green notes. Medium bodied. Quite nice. Great to drink a fresh '85 Bdx after the three dreadfully dead '86 Sociando's I've recently opened.

January 7, 2012 - Wineterfest 2012: Nose of bandaid, cassis, saddle leather, pomegranite, mushrooms, black licorice and cedar. Definite earthiness. Flavor dark black fruits, cedar, and a touch of burnt marshmallow on the finish. Very nice aged bordeaux.
