May 12, 2018 - 12MAY at Kopke in Porto: Lots of honey and vanilla; lower acidity than the fine white, with a sweeter open

March 30, 2018 - Port tasting (tawnies and rubys); 3/27/2018-4/3/2018 (Todd's): I don't have much experience with white ports but this was excellent. Deep golden in color. The nose has a nice but slight orange marmalade quality to it. On the palate, this is sweet. A slight mushroom note with some caramel. With air, some butterscotch emerges. Slight alcohol on the finish. There is a nice vibrancy here but also a Madeira-esq quality to it. Quite nice.

March 30, 2015 - Importer tasting: Retailer tasting. Not many notes. Something really special I have never tasted before. Dried fruits, some sweetness, but also acidity to back it up. I am not a great fan, but I would like to taste again when I have some more time. No score.

February 8, 2014 - First offering at a Valentines Port Tasting. Excellent. From their tasting notes:
Porto Kopke Lágrima White Port – So loved by the Portuguese as to be called “The Tears of Christ”, this wonderful, medium-sweet style has just begun to make an impact on the American palate. One taste and you’re hooked on its sweet citrus and lemon verbena finish balance by good acidity like an expensive sauternes. Oak-aged for 5 years, the wine is produced from a variety of white grapes, including Malvasia Fina. Serve slightly chilled as an aperitif with hot-spicy starters or with fruit salads and desserts.
    + Ready to drink
    + Store vertically
+ No benefit from further bottle aging
+ Keeps 7-10 days after opening

NOSE: hay; apple juice; hint of golden raisins.

BODY: deep Tokaji-like orange color; full bodied.

TASTE: Quite sweet, with a hint of typical tawniness; dates; organic sugar; sweet, but not identifiable with a particular fruit; intensely flavored; I’d like more definition of flavor from this wine; I thought the Nose was better than the Taste.
