February 20, 2014 - Flinty and smokey notes predominate currently. Underlying fruit of tree-ripened green apple with asian citrus. Aging seems to have increased it's merits rather than detracting.

November 7, 2011 - Creamy and reminiscent of marzipan on the nose, this wine hints at white nectarine and quince at the core, with an interesting nutty component hanging in the background. Butter and spice also make a subtle appearance with a spin in the glass.

The palate is ripe and dominated by tones of lemon pith and melon. This wine is very crisp, with a subtle nuttiness and marzipan edge that rounds it out quite a bit. Sliced pear and sea stone show in the background with just a hint of white pepper on the edges. This is a light, crisp, yet supple wine, with good balance and a pleasant fruitiness.

October 26, 2010 - Great initial intensity that balances out into a very dry mid and finish. Intense and lengthy this wine had a great flavor of minerality and tropical fruits.

April 17, 2010 - Interesting mix of citrus and creaminess. Bought based on rave reviews so expectations were high. This fell a bit short, primarily due to lack of cohesion.

May 28, 2009 - White Wine Dinner at Dino's (Washington, DC): first wine of the night and a good one to start with. this was golden colored. made from xarel-lo and aged on the lees for six months, this has aromas of apricots and minerals. zesty acid, crisp and clean, but a little bit of creaminess too. nice flavors of apricots, orange peel and almonds with a zippy finish.

(Castell Roig Xarel-lo Vi de Terrer) #1; COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-great apricot; little Stone fruit coming through; hints of dried hay; very pretty; TASTE-razor sharp acidity; beautiful grapefruit components; apricots; some tangerine on the finish; very citrus-y; very crisp & clean; nice medium body; bringing the thunder; textbook example of this varietal; very good; so high in acid, but such clean fruit (a gorgeous combination); an absolute gem of a wine; JM-90; GV-90
