November 28, 2021 - Schwarzer Adler 2021 (Schwarzer Adler): - No decanting @ Schwarzer Adler
    - Wonderfully medium + intense, sexy, some very slightly candied (but absolutely adds to the complexity) fruit. Fresh plums as if they were won today, a lightness of strawberries and a coat of damp leaves and earth. Lots of cinnamon and very fine vanilla comes in. Mega precise in all layers.
    - In the mouth beautiful fullness, silky feel imparting and also this lingering lightness of strawberries, red plums and vanilla. Tannins are velvety and soft but still giving enough grip. A bit slender at the beginning, but very broad and complex towards the end. Beautiful development in the glass. Heavenly drinking pleasure!
    - 96-97 points, easily storable for 10 years.

November 27, 2021 - Schwarzer Adler 2021 (Schwarzer Adler): pnp

nose: straight forward aromas, clearly distinguishable. the different layers identifiable. sour cherry, lots of red ripe fruits, hints of tertiary aromas

palate: dense and compact, nice tension, velvety tannins, its a pleasure to drink this wine! crisp acidity and nice drinkflow. the wine is honest and pure, and the tertiary aromas are just beginning to evolve. can drink now but also wait for another 10+ years for the aromas and the complexity to rise.
would decant, but not longer than 2-3 hours.
side-by-side with 2006 Rudolf Fürst Centgrafenberg, the rousseau stomped the german pinot.

October 15, 2021 - Not a deep colour; soft, very elegant, red-fruited, with impeccable balance and good length. Not a heavy wine, but excellent nonetheless.

September 3, 2021 - So perfumed. Blue and black fruit, violet, orange rind, mouthwatering acidity for the vintage. So much more volume and spice than the big three (namely, Chambertin, CdB and CSJ). Lasting heat. Not flat! Maybe it’s the drinking window; will try the rest again. 93

January 13, 2021 - Quite a deep colour; intense, dark-fruited, savoury and almost feral. Now mature, and more evolved and complex than previously. In fact, the rather gamey edge, verging on manure, is almost too much for my taste: perhaps it is just this bottle as I have not noticed it before. Even so, this is an excellent, characterful Burgundy.

(Rousseau Armand Charmes-Chambertin) Medium-pale colour. Lovely breadth and focus to the mainly red fruit, a creamy aspect too. In the mouth it’s fresh and has good dimension and complexity. Long finishing in a surprisingly mineral (for Charmes) way. Lovely
