March 4, 2024 - Nose: orange peel, tar, red flower, rose, cola, game, herbal, strawberry, cured meat, rice crackers, blueberry, raspberry
Notes: Drank vertically with CSJ 04,06,08,13 and CdR 06,08,11. This has a relatively strong aroma but a very elegant and gentle palate. Absolutely complex aroma and certainly a wine with plenty of depth. I would say that the earthiness is still a little dominating at this stage so I expect this to be improved with further cellaring. The palate is really balanced and grand so although this may not have been the best wine of the night I can see plenty of potential left and am convinced that this will be a magnificent bottle in a couple of years.

November 18, 2023 - Very good volume for the vintage, aromatic, large. 93
October 5, 2023 - Rousseau Clos St Jacques and Corton-Charlemagne Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): In vertical. Dense and meaty with lots of fleshy black fruit, but easily well balanced at the same time. Very good length.
October 5, 2023 - 09|07|06|02|01|96|90 vertical. Another wine that typifies the vintage with darker and riper fruit with a more heavy and substantial mouthfeel, which while balanced does quite have the energy/lift of some of the other bottles tonight. At peak and should hold at this level for 5+ years.
December 4, 2021 - Drank in London
A singing beauty
September 23, 2021 - Sjaak's 40th birthday dinner (Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): Finesse, elegance, freshness and exemplary brightness of fruit, some evolution on the nose, some tannic grip which needs time to resolve. Aromatically it was not as expressive as I had expected, but I don't know whether it's the bottle or a closed phase.
June 24, 2021 - Served blind. Meaty on the nose initially turning almost glossy with exuberant cherry after some time in glass. Bacon-y on the palate, round. In early drinking window and showed a lot of promise for the vintage. 94 today with upside.
May 18, 2021 - Very pure and cool nose with aromas of violet. As refined on the palate and maintained its elegance over the course of the evening. Drank better than the 98 CSJ alongside it. In its window now and is fantastic.
April 10, 2021 - Best of the best: Fantastisk doft även här.
March 7, 2020 - La Paulee 2020 - Gala Dinner (Pier 60): Thin vintage, not far behind from Chambertin and Beze. 93
