February 17, 2019 - Bright, young, tart cherry. Very fresh I'll wait 3 years before opening another.
December 17, 2018 - Very well mannered but fading wine. Plenty of sous bois and dried fruit and flowers. Structure has all melted away and you can see a bit of bricking at the edges. Not falling off a cliff, but drink up.
July 27, 2018 - IPNC Weekend 2018; 7/26/2018-8/2/2018 (Linfield College, McMinnville, OR): Small glass late in the evening. Spice, cherries, dry earth, medium body, nice tannins, in a good spot.
March 10, 2018 - A little browning in the colour of the wine, with a wonderful nose of earth, forest floor and cherries. These notes transfer to the medium bodied palate, and the still healthy, ripe tannins give this wine great structure. Lovely now but this should last several years yet (A-).
March 20, 2015 - Drank with the fam on a visit a few weeks ago. No notes, unfortunately, but a good bottle at a good age. No rush.
November 19, 2014 - No formal note but what a delicious wine. Drinking beautifully right now. No reason to wait on this one.
September 25, 2013 - Opened on a whim. Night 1, dry, sparse, stingy: not bad, but giving little beyond the tactile sensation of fine-grained tannin. Night 2, considerable Pinot sap and juiciness had leaked into the spaces between the tannins, so that the wine components were balanced and quite delicious. Presenting a slightly lean, compact profile, but somehow the more likeable for it: brought to mind Kramer's description of how Pernand should taste. Will add this wine to my Pavelot watch list. Recommend day-long slow-ox, or a long decant, if drinking soon. If this bottle is indicative of where 06 Cote de Beaunes are headed, hooray.
August 31, 2013 - Maybe too young but not really worth the price of admission.
November 3, 2012 - Opened on Saturday night about 30 minutes before tasting. Did not decant or use Venturi. Nose was somewhat subtle with some hints of berries and a little earthiness. The initial taste was of berry fruit but with a tartness that seemed to overwhelm the fruit and seemed to turn more acidic through the finish. I drank about 2/3s of the bottle over the next 2 hours with no rush. The tarty acidic taste mellowed a little, but not completely
Finished the bottle on Sunday evening and was very pleasantly surprise that the acidic taste an finish was totally gone. The last 1/3 of the bottle was very nice with more fruit and berries blossoming on the palette. It turned into a very enjoyable experience.
June 23, 2012 - Drinking nicely, though much development still ahead.
