November 8, 2019 - Fantastic nose, toasted, with hints of very slight mint, smoke and other spices; at the palate red fruit that is well integrated, juicy and seductive; earthy minerality. Finesse and elegance. A very well made MSD. Paired with an Irish filet, extra virgin olive oil and Maldon salt

August 21, 2018 - Not going to rate - Half bottle via Coravin at a restaurant. May have been an off bottle but not very obviously so. Nose was interfered with by either excess alcohol or some other compound present. On the palate, not completely off but nothing very lively. Will focus on his Gevrey-Chambertin instead per some of the other reviews. Pity.

May 2, 2018 - Wednesday wine session at Chateau YB. Tasted blind. Drank from decanter over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with slight garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of mint, earth, brown stems, dark red cherries, smoke. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), grippy medium tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, black cherries, boysenberries, smokey earth, mint. Medium+ finish.
Good quality. Dark and masculine. Balance a little off as acidity not showing and seems to be losing intensity. I was guessing and aged Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Time to drink up.

    December 6, 2017 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark red faint purple tinge mild clearing at edge
-restrained stony dark red fruit plum touch of mint
-med acidity, med weight tangy red black fruit mostly faded leaving a mildly earthy bitter residue with med- tannins
-solid and soundly made but a bit austere, just doesn't inspire like his Gevrey wines usually do

    March 9, 2017 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent med red minimal bricking
-aromatic penetrating pretty black cherry iron faint wood
-med acidity, med/med- weight with a wisp of cherry fruit and an earthy minerality, med tannins are coarse and a little dried out, giving a rustic edge
-typically gorgeous Serafin aromatics, this could still improve if the tannins further integrate without drying out too much
