September 27, 2020 - Soft, sexy, elegant, som much Pinot-pleasure here, a real Chambolle, a real Charmes, feminine, charming with ripe fruit; still young, but approachable.

March 30, 2019 - A Fine Weekend at the Autostadt; 3/30/2019-3/31/2019 (Hotel Ritz Carlton, AQUA Restaurant): This one is for me, needs still a decent decant, at first wild, wild wild on the nose and palate, absolutely bewitching fruit, still a little tannic, but blossoms up, with more aeration really complex, fine and all the way elegant, long+ aftertaste, stunning bottle, **(**+?), 93-94(+?) potencial

August 18, 2018 - recent acquisition. PNP. color ruby with slightest bricking edges. cork leaked a little which worried me about provenance. nose dominated by sous bois and cherry. swishing shows high tone acid and also tannin, but the fruit prevents this from being stringent. sipping this shows high gloss cherry fruit with considerable length. if there was some heat damage this must have been mind blowing, because it is pretty damned good. i think that this is in its drinking window but there is fuel in the tank too.

June 4, 2017 - Mid-ruby, brick edges; earth, leather, red fruit, strawberry nose; mid-body; balanced; good fruit and structure; long semi-tight fruity finish. Needs a little time.

February 19, 2014 - I was disappointed with this wine. I will assume that it is just a bad time to drink it as the nose was really quite nice - lots of earth and cool Pinot fruit. The palate is the issue tonight as it is flat out bitter on the finish. My experience with wines from Ponsot is checkered at best. I own a good stash and therefore hope it is just a matter of time .... (85+?)

May 24, 2013 - A private dinner (Restaurant Aqua ***, Wolfsburg, Germany): Very stemmy nose, high-toned but deep and and energetic; very elegant and minerally, relatively tight and structured, good length. Not really charming or feminine, may be in a somewhat dumb phase.

February 24, 2012 - Clear ruby color with a hint of bricking. The nose is a bit caustic with hints of red berries, but without the usual forest floor and fungus typical of Ponsot. On the palate, there's a nice balance of acidity, raspberry and strawberry notes, and just a trace of mint. Again, less earthiness than I've come to expect from this domaine. A bit closed. I think patience will be rewarded here and this wine will benefit from at least another 3-5 years in the bottle.
