Community Tasting Notes 3

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Black tea, slowly cooked mushroom and clear remnants (or more) of sweet red fruit with fresher spice notes. Very fun.

May 24, 2012 - Smells like the Kentucky Derby, with plenty of sediment. Looks like a Madiera in color. Baked cherry, fine tannins, almost creamy texture. Delicate and wonderful, showing better than a 1982 Chambertin we also tasted that night. Not sure if it's the producer, the vineyard or the vintage (or maybe all three) that made it more impressive, but it sure was.

November 11, 2009 - Of the six bottles we tried, none were great. Two were absolutely awful. Oxidized, weak tea flavors. Just not enough guts to last the test of time.
