February 21, 2021 - Decanted for 45 minutes. First off, it had a bite to it, but smoothed out quickly. Georgeous wine in its prime. Drink now
May 29, 2019 - Kicking after 18 years. Huge aromatics as soon as the crumbly cork left the bottle. Floral, dried cherries, leather, medium bodied, plenty of fruit left, with a healthy dose of acidity on the finish to help pair with food . Held up really well and drinking at or near its peak.
September 30, 2018 - Still tannin left. Earthy and leather with licorice nose with enough mustiness that lets you know the wine is past its peak. Tawny color. Still some fruit left. Quite a bit of sediment. I actually enjoyed this 375 bottle.
August 23, 2017 - Disappointing. Saved it for a special occasion. Had big expectations, and it turned out to be an easily drinkable wine, but without much taste. Smooth. Did not taste like it was too old, just kind of boring. Way too expensive.
November 4, 2015 - Tasted during a WA event „a matter of taste”. 50/50 Sangiovese/Merlot. From Magnum. Medium-dark garnet with brownish rim. Nose of earth, prune. Medium bodied palate, a bit flabby, looking for aromatic lift, but overall a nice package. Too much marketing for the wine it is though.
May 13, 2015 - Still amazingly good after an hour or so...
February 8, 2015 - Little rust on the edges lets you know it has a little age. The fruit is muted but still very pleasant. The terroir is very firm in the finish with graphite and moist clay notes. Very enjoyable with a bit of tannin still noticeable. Maybe has a few years left. I have two bottles left to enjoy.

This is a great Italian with big fruit and tannins.
January 7, 2012 - Decanted for two hours. Dark red with an orange rim, clear with some sediment and tartaric crystals. Mainly Bordeaux-style on the nose with cassis, plums, cherries, leather and earth. Medium-full on the palate with sweet fruit, firm tannins and a correct level of acidity. The aftertaste is long and clean but somewhat restrained. Could benefit from a few more years in the cellar but I think the fruit will fade out long before the tannins really soften up. Drink over the next ten years. 92+
