April 22, 2019 - Opened one hour in advance (the cork was a crumbly mess). Fragrant aroma of berry and menthol Rich black fruit flavor which carries through to the finish.

Flawless, as far as it goes, drinking well, one dimensional. If I'm reputedly expected to wait 10+ years before opening a wine, I expect it to have more layers of complexity than I'm finding here. On the other hand, since I had the space to store it, it offers excellent value for what I paid at the time.

July 19, 2018 - One of the greatest $8 wines we have ever bought and, at 13 years old, in great shape. Opaque purple with a lighter red at the edge. Aromatic violets, blueberry, and blackberry. Comes into the mouth with refreshing and palette awakening acidity and integrated tannin that keeps the wine buoyant and dry. The swallow features concentrated fruit that is rich and delicious. We kept coming back to this wine even when drinking it beside other wines costing at least 3 times its price.

March 23, 2015 - A tasting and dinner with Jean-Marie and Maine Guffens (Restaurant De Nederlanden *, Vreeland, NL): A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Cabernet-Sauvignon. Pink peppers, black fruit, flowers, hint of nutty evolution, energetic and mineral, lovely freshness, firm tannins, hint of cream, build complexity with oxygen (blackcurrants, hint of chocolate, rosemary, garrigue), good length, very satisfying.

September 8, 2011 - Purchased from wine barn orlando fl. for a prayer. Give this 30 minutes to really shine. This will give the nose enough time to show off its complexity. Scents of red velvet, sweet leather, faint hints of complimentary bell pepper and raspberry. On the palate this wine is pure polish, cool red fruits, bright acidity, velvet like texture and impeccable balance. Thank you Andres Montoya for introducing me to this gem.

August 8, 2010 - This tastes like it has a big dollop of carignan. Big, fruity and unfocused. A lot of fine tannin, good weight, good acidity and great minerallity. No secondary charistics and I doubt that it ever will. A good everyday drinker.
