October 30, 2020 - The 1992 Château de Beaucastel is everything you want from a fully mature CdP. Vigorous swirling brings alive smokey herbs, leather, and earth. The palate is still quite rich with the addition of what I usually describe as dried candied oranges in aged Southern Rhone wine. This bottle defies the 1992 poor vintage reputation. Better 5-10 years ago, but still really enjoyable now.

November 28, 2015 - Still drinking great, in fact, it actually opened up and drank better over a two-hour period. Had a fair amount of sediment so decanted. Cherry, leather and olive notes on the nose. Tannin is completely smoothed out and integrated into the wine, so the texture is quite soft and round. Mid-palate has a nice spice element along with a bite of fruity acidity. Long finish with a hint of tobacco.
