July 24, 2021 - (Disgorged in fall of 2001, 60% Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne and 40% Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs, dosage 4 gr/l)
Wonderful golden yellow colour with fine streams of bubbles raising slowly in the glass. Mature nose showing butterscotch, cream and lemon citrus notes at first. Opens up with a gentle touch of burnt sugar, almond milk and some juniper wood. Smoothing acidity on the mature palate showing butterscotch notes combined with a lemon zest acidity and ??? before some creaminess and dried herbs take over on the lengthy finish. This is still drinking very well with 20 years of post-disgorgement cellaring, even though this bottle felt a bit premature compared to other bottles I’ve had..

September 26, 2020 - Lovely mature, dried fruit, plenty fresh. On my 40th a few months ago, during Covid lockdown.

December 29, 2019 - To celebrate eldest daughter's birthday (born in 95). Wow. Agree entirely with Benblu's comments below. This is seriously seriously good - an absolute delight to share with family and friends. Cork proved intransigent, but lovely mature yet vibrant wine once I got in!

September 12, 2019 - 1995 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Medlar (London)): My initial note when the glass was poured and I stuck my nose in was "Wow nose! Insane! Voici le roi?". On the palate salty and sweet, mineral and apple. Loved this based on the first impression had this down as potential WOTN and a lofty score of 97-98 came to mind. It did however quickly decline and got less interesting but still pleasurable to settle somewhere in the low-mid 90s so hence the 95 score.

I hadn't tasted this for around 15 years but I remember loving it on release and drinking my way through a 6 pack within a year's time. Drink up! If you have a bottle recommend to pull the cork and share it hastily with 20 people for a half glass it might be the perfect glass.
